ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A 21-year-old was charged Friday in a June 2022 shooting that killed one and injured another.

St. Louis Prosecutors charged Malachi Ezell, 21, with first-degree murder and first-degree assault in the shooting that killed 28-year-old Brandon Murphy and injured another man. The second victim was never identified, but police said he was 29 years old at the time of the shooting.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. on June 21, 2022, at the Crown Mart Gas Station in the 900 block of North Kingshighway. Police say Ezell and another person approached Murphy and the 29-year-old victim, who were sitting in a car.

Court records say Ezell and the other person approached the victims, pulled out handguns and fired into the car, killing Murphy and injuring the other
