NORMAN — James “Tank” Carrington, a three-star defensive line recruit in the class of 2026, announced his commitment to Oklahoma on Saturday.
Carrington’s flip to OU comes merely two days after he decommitted from Florida State. He had been committed to the Seminoles since June 16.
A 6-foot-2, 257-pounder from Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, California, Carrington is ranked the No. 63 defensive lineman in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports Composite ratings.
The 247Sports Composite also has Carrington as the No. 42 player in California and the No. 530 overall player in the nation.
Carrington was invited to both the Polynesian Bowl and the Navy All-American Bowl earlier this year. He previously lived in Maryland and also wrestles outside
