CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WKRG) — A deadly Saturday morning shooting followed an almost three-hour standoff with police, News 5 has learned.

Officers noticed a "suspicious vehicle" at a closed business just before 2 a.m. on the 1600 block of South Ferdon Boulevard, according to a Crestview Police Department news release.

There, they found a person with a gun making suicidal statements, according to officials.

"For nearly 3 hours, officers spoke with the subject attempting to peacefully resolve the situation, before the subject pointed a firearm at an officer, which led to an officer involved shooting incident resulting in the subject’s death," the release said.

No police officers were injured in the incident, according to the CPD.
