PROCTOR — Every summer, the community of Proctor celebrates its railroad industry and history with the Hoghead Festival, and 2025 marks a milestone with the 50th year of the festival, which first began in 1976.
"Hoghead" is railroad slang for a railroad engineer.
Events for the six-day celebration kicked off on Monday and continued throughout the week with opportunities to participate in a variety of activities around town, including cribbage, flag football, softball, wiffle ball and corn hole. The festival also included a car show, music, bingo, a model train display, “Ninja Anywhere” course, bouncy houses, movie night and more.
