LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville police provided new details Friday about two shootings that killed two mothers on the same day.

Redaja Williams, 23, was fatally shot Wednesday morning while walking her child to the bus stop near 10th and Chestnut Streets.

Another woman, Jermia Offutt, 28, was shot in the 4100 block of West Broadway in the Chickasaw neighborhood Wednesday night. She was an expecting mother of three.

During a news conference Friday morning, Lt. Les Skaggs with LMPD's Homicide Unit said detectives don't believe either shooting is related.

While no motive has been determined in either fatal shooting, Skaggs said Williams was "targeted." He said surveillance video near the bus stop shows the suspect aiming in her direction before firing multiple times.
