GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) - From Aug. 13 to Sept. 1, there will be additional patrol units in Glasgow as police participate in the Drive Sober Get Pulled Over Campaign.

According to the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety, there were 4,260 crashes involving an impaired driver in 2024, resulting in more than 2,000 injuries and 185 deaths.

To ensure safe driving, Glasgow Police recommends the following tips:

Plan a way to get home before heading to the event.

If you’re impaired, use a ride-booking service or public transportation, or call a sober friend or family member to pick you up.

If you see an impaired driver, safely pull over and contact law enforcement.

Provide a vehicle description, license number, location and direction of travel if possible.

Wear a seatbelt.
