NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet High School in Nashville is facing backlash from students and parents after the administration rolled out an updated dress code just days before the start of the school year.
“We had actually just gotten home from back to school shopping on Sunday, and school was starting the next week,“ said MLK parent Candace Bridges. ”I was just like, ‘Oh, gosh, I’ve got to go look at that to make sure we haven’t made any mistakes here,’ and we had, according to the new dress code."
The new rules are more restrictive than in years past, including things like requiring that students cover their chest, shoulders, back, and midriff at all time, requiring that shorts and skirts are no shorter than mid-thigh and requiring that leggings or yoga pants b
