Summer has been the occasion for outdoor events of all different kinds.

THE 3rd annual Sylvania Plein Air Festival, one of the largest events of its kind in the area, was held from July 27 to Aug. 1 around the city and provided five days on networking and art opportunities.

At the end of the week, winners, as selected by professional artist & juror Vianna Szabo, were announced in half a dozen categories — with many receiving large cash prizes.

In the Artist Professional division:

Best of Show and $1,000 went to Logan Hudson for The Cappellini House

Second Award and $750 went to Pat Cheal for Wildwood Park

Third Award and $500 went to Mary Hertler Tallman for Morning Light at Wildwood

Honorable Mention #1 went to Thomas Sorrell for Bridge over untroubled water
