CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A man is dead after a late-night shooting in Chesapeake.
Police say they received a 911 call around 10:44 p.m. Saturday about an injured person in the 2600 block of Harvard Drive. The shooting appeared to take place at Harvard Apartments.
When officers and emergency medical crews arrived, they found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound. First responders began life-saving efforts before taking him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injury.
By 13News Now's count, this incident marks the fifth shooting to happen in Chesapeake so far this month. Of the five shootings, four victims have died.
