FLINT, MI — Back to the Bricks has always been filled with an enormous color palette with hundreds of cars and large crowds of thousands of people.
Add to that the details of the vintage cars, decals and the traditional bricks along Saginaw Street, and it becomes a splendid visual display ripe for pictures.
On the main event day, Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, MLive senior photojournalist Jake May wanted to use all of those elements to make unique frames and views we’ve never seen before.
How? By making double exposure photographs.
What’s a double exposure? It’s a multiple exposure, which is the superimposition of two or more exposures to create a single image, and a double exposure has a corresponding meaning in respect of two images. The exposure values may or may not be identical to each
