LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man is dead after a motorcycle crash in southwest Louisville Sunday, Aug. 17.

Louisville police said the crash happened around 3:20 a.m. on Third Street Road near Windsor Park Drive. LMPD’s initial investigation showed a motorcyclist was heading south on Third Street Road when for an unknown reason, he failed to properly handle the right-hand curve in the road, lost control and hit a guardrail, causing him to be thrown off.

The driver was taken to UofL Hospital, where he later died.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating.
