BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - It’s been a sunny start to the day and temperatures have rapidly heated up into the upper 80s and lower 90s shortly before noon. When you factor in the humidity, it is already feeling like it is near 100°F in several spots.

The National Weather Service has expanded the Heat Advisory to now include Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Sumter and Greene counties until 7 p.m. today. Areas in the Heat Advisory could see highs in the mid 90s with a heat index approaching 105°F.
