An urgent recall has been issued for about 56,000 hair dryers sold at major online retailers like Amazon, Target and Walmart marketplaces which could electrocute its users.
The recall covers hair dryers sold under the Remington brand, which have been on the market since March 2024.
According to a notice published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday, these products pose a “risk of serious injury or death.”
The bathroom appliances were made without an immersion protection device, which would protect users from being electrocuted if the hair dryer fell into water while plugged in, the CPSC notes.
