EAST WINDSOR, Conn — A 27-year-old man died after a pickup truck crash in East Windsor early Sunday, according to the town's police department.

Around 12:30 a.m., an officer on patrol found Jared Charette, 27, of East Windsor, lying unconscious in the road on Rye Street.

Due to his multiple injuries, CPR was started immediately. Despite the efforts of police, firefighters and EMS in attempting life-saving measures, Charette was pronounced dead at the scene.

A short distance away, police found Charette's Ford F-350 pickup truck, which they said went off the road, hit a guardrail and crashed into a utility pole before landing on an embankment.

Investigators believe Charette was ejected from the vehicle when it overturned.
