NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - As part of the countdown to kickoff for University of Tennessee football, WSMV spending the month of August profiling 30 UT football players in ‘30 Days 30 Vols’ . The segments air on WSMV’s 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts.

University of Tennessee linebacker Edwin Spillman is #13 on the countdown.

Spillman is a promising linebacker who has all the tools. He saw action in four games as a true freshman and earned a red shirt, finishing his rookie season with six tackles and some valuable experience in UT’s College Football Playoff matchup with Ohio State.

Spillman spent seven years living in a unique place: Sierra Leone.
