A man who escaped last week from a Danville Adult Detention Center work crew was back in custody, the Danville Police Department announced Sunday afternoon.

Brett Parrish walked away from a worksite at H.B. Moorefield Park at 4550 Riverside Drive on Aug. 12, authorities reported.

He was taken into custody in Pittsylvania County, but details of his arrest were not immediately disclosed.

Parrish was serving time for a probation violation, with an underlying charge of burglary, police noted.

Crime Stoppers offered a $500 reward for information that led to his arrest.
