CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Jay Thomason and Sam Kulasingam are both graduates of the United States Air Force Academy. They played baseball together there.

For the first time since their graduation in 2024, they saw each other, but this time in separate dugouts.

Thomason is a Cedar Rapids Kernel, while Kulasingam is a Quad Cities River Bandit.

“It reminded me of the scrimmages that we used to have at Air Force. That was the last time I’d seen him in the opposing team’s dugout,” said Thomason.

The pair are now pros after balancing school, training, and baseball at the USAFA.
