OAKDALE, Calif. — A dive team was called out to a canal near Victoria Avenue and Jackson Avenue, west of Oakdale , not far from the last reported sighting of Whisper Owen's car.

A spokesperson for the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said they found a grey Chevy in a canal connected to the disappearance of Whisper Owen. An infant and adult were found inside. Deputies have not confirmed the identities of the bodies at this time, however Richard Owen, brother to Whisper Owen, confirmed with ABC10 that his sister and her eight-month-old child Sandra McCarty were found inside.

The Fresno Police Department has been investigating the disappearance of Whisper Owen and Sandra since they vanished on July 15 while on their way back to Elk Grove from a doctor's appointment in Fresno.
