LOGAN — Firefighters reported making significant progress in containing the Green Canyon Fire, bringing it to 50% containment as of Sunday evening. The blaze was first reported earlier in the day at 11:20 a.m. near the small electrical substation, east of North Logan.
Logan City Fire Marshal Craig Humphreys said the first crews arrived on the scene within three minutes and quickly called for a second alarm, which brought additional units from Logan City and Cache County.
“We divided the fire between a north and south division and assigned resources on both divisions,” explained Humphreys. “We were able to hook to a hydrant and relay pump with our structural firetrucks up to the substation, so we could have wet lines on both north and south flanks.”
