LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Pickleball athletes and enthusiasts put on their game face this weekend while competing to raise money for visually impaired kids in Kentucky and Indiana.

The Kentuckiana-based group Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS) held its fifth annual Pickleball Classic. The organization provides early intervention resources for children five years old and younger who are blind or have low vision.

Though these players are still counting the score, they say they’re just dinking around for a good cause.

“They’re all very competitive,” said Kelly Easton, VIPS director of community outreach and intake. “But ultimately, a little less competitive because they know they are here to do great things for the kids.”
