LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Several people who have loved ones buried at the Louisville Cemetery came together Sunday afternoon to clean it up, after realizing several of the graves have been neglected.

Now, they’re just hoping this prompts some sort of action from the cemetery itself.

“My whole family, mother, brother, uncle, grandmother, just everybody’s buried here,” said Antonio Neal. “I always came up to this graveyard ever since I was a child.”

Neal said he frequently visits the cemetery, but recently, he’s noticed something different: several gravesites are unkempt, with some tombstones completely hidden under brush and grass.

Neal said he’s tried contacting those in charge of the cemetery many times, including visiting the office and making phone calls, but has heard nothing back.
