The UK's 'dirtiest' beach has been named, with some visitors bound to be surprised by some of the allegations levelled by past tourists.

Skegness Beach in Lincolnshire is known for its sandy beach and events, attracting around four million holidaymakers to the site each year.

However, new research has suggested it is this venue which is the worst offender when it comes to cleanliness, coming top of the chart ahead of Margate Main Sands and Formby Beach in Merseyside.

Plastic waste experts at BusinessWaste.co.uk provided the data on the beaches with the most litter, using TripAdvisor as a way to determine the 'dirtiest' beach.
