A Slate Belt Regional Police officer was injured in a head-on crash in Plainfield Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Monday, Aug. 18.
The collision happened at approximately 2:17 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, when troopers from the Bethlehem station were called to 1016 West Pennsylvania Avenue for a reported crash, according to invesigators.
The officer was traveling northbound in a marked 2023 Dodge Durango police vehicle when a 2008 Honda Accord, driven by a 29-year-old woman from Wind Gap, crossed into the northbound lanes and struck the police cruiser, investigators explained.
The officer sustained minor injuries, state police said.
The Honda driver was treated at the scene before being transported to a hospital by Suburban Ambulance.
The Bethlehem Patrol Unit continues to investigate the crash.
