A man was left seriously injured after a horror stabbing in Salford on Monday (August 18). The victim was rushed to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment.

Police were called to the knife attack on Newlands Drive in Swinton at around 12.50am. The victim, whose age was not confirmed, suffered serious injuries.

A woman, aged 38, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They have been taken into custody to be questioned.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers responded to reports of an assault at Newlands Drive in Swinton at around 12:50am this morning (Monday 18 August).

"A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
