CANAAN, N.H. (WCAX) - Police are investigating a suspicious death in Canaan, New Hampshire.

Officers doing a welfare check at a home on Sawyer Hill Road at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday said they found the resident dead.

They said William Colao, 67, appeared to have a stab wound.

His body was sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Authorities said their investigation is still underway but there is no known threat to the general public.
