BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A 16-year-old faces multiple charges after police say he took a stolen car for a joyride through Burlington.

It happened at about 1 a.m. on Monday when police say they got a report of two people trying to break into cars on Berry Street off North Avenue.

Shortly after, officers saw two cars speeding through the city and driving the wrong way down one-way streets.

Police pursued the car, which they say eventually crashed on Manhattan Drive. After a foot chase, officers arrested the juvenile driver, who they say wasn’t injured.

Police believe that the car was stolen earlier in the night.

They say the other car involved got away.

The victim of the attempted theft told us it will cost a few hundred to fix the damage to his car.
