YOUNGSTOWN A convicted sex offender arrested in Youngstown after illegally re-entering the United States after being deported to Guatemala, was sentenced Monday to 18 months in federal prison.

U.S. District Judge Pamela A. Barker sentenced 66-year-old Baudilio Ramos on one count of illegal reentry of a removed alien. Following his prison term, the 53-year-old will serve three years of supervised release. Judge Barker recommended Ramos be designated to FCI Elkton, a federal correctional institution in Lisbon, Ohio, and receive credit for time already served.

Ramos, a Guatemalan national, was arrested in Mahoning County after authorities received a tip about his status as a sex offender. According to a criminal complaint, Ramos had previously admitted to entering the U.S. in 1990 on a
