SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, was found in the Siouxland area.

Nebraska’s Department of Correctional Services says 38-year-old Alexander Gouge was taken back into custody by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, Aug. 17. He was booked into the jail in Dakota City, while authorities processed his transfer.

Gouge was reported missing on Thursday, Aug. 14, after he did not return to the corrections center in Lincoln following a job-seeking furlough.

The Community Correction Center in Lincoln is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility, according to state authorities. Inmates are allowed to participate in work opportunities, attend school and religious services with prior appr
