Pro-Gun Group Secures Key Vote in North Carolina’s Permitless Carry Showdown
A national gun rights organization is optimistic about the prospects of a veto override vote in North Carolina, citing a recent commitment from a state lawmaker. The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) has been actively advocating for the passage of SB 50, a bill that would establish permitless carry in the state.
The legislation, which passed both houses earlier this year, was vetoed by Democratic Governor Josh Stein.
In an effort to galvanize support for an override, the CCRKBA sent letters to four key members of the House of Representatives last week: Ted Davis, Jr., Stephen M. Ross, Howard Penny, Jr., and Jimmy Dixon.
