Driver Accidentally Accelerates, Sending Vehicle Into Chase Bank on U.S. 19; Investigation Underway

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – Monday morning was disrupted at a local bank when a car crashed into the building, though authorities confirm that miraculously, no one was harmed.

At approximately 10:52 a.m. today, officers from the New Port Richey Police Department were dispatched to the Chase Bank located at 5029 U.S. Highway 19 following a single-vehicle collision. According to preliminary findings, the driver of the vehicle accidentally hit the accelerator, causing the car to lurch over a curb and into the wall of the bank.

Despite the dramatic nature of the incident, officials reported that no injuries occurred among the bank’s employees, customers, or the vehicle’s occupants.
