DOH-Hillsborough and Mosquito Control Launch Aerial Spraying After Locally Acquired Case Reported

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County (DOH-Hillsborough) has confirmed a human case of locally-acquired dengue fever in the county. In response, DOH-Hillsborough is collaborating with Hillsborough County Mosquito Control to launch an aggressive prevention campaign, including aerial spraying, to curb further transmission.

Residents are being urged to take proactive measures to protect themselves from mosquito bites. DOH-Hillsborough recommends the following precautions:

Drain water: Eliminate standing water from around your home, including in buckets, birdbaths, and planters, as this is where mosquitoes breed.
