Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Applauds Victim for Coming Forward, Vows to Seek Justice

TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa man has been arrested and charged with sexual battery and false imprisonment following an investigation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). The arrest came after a victim escaped her captor and reported the incident to authorities.

The HCSO launched its investigation on July 30, 2025, after a woman came forward with details of being sexually battered and held against her will at a residence in Tampa. According to detectives, the victim was able to flee the home and call for help.

Two days later, on August 1, 2025, detectives arrested Andrew Grant, 28, and charged him with one count of sexual battery and one count of false imprisonment.
