Semaj Ayers Among Seven Charged in Brutal Abduction Sparked by Mistaken Carjacking Revenge

A 23-year-old Detroit man, Semaj Ayers, was sentenced to 110 months in federal prison on Thursday, for his role in a violent kidnapping driven by a mistaken belief that the victim was involved in a carjacking, U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr. announced. The case, which saw six of seven defendants convicted, exposed a chilling act of gang-fueled vengeance that left a woman beaten and abandoned.
