Homosassa Man, 79, Sentenced to Five Years After Deputies Find Meth at His Home
CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 79-year-old Homosassa man’s persistent calls to law enforcement resulted in his conviction and a five-year prison sentence for drug possession. On Friday, August 15, 2025, a Citrus County jury deliberated for just 20 minutes before finding George Seely Crandall III guilty of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Paraphernalia.
The bizarre sequence of events began in November 2024, when the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls from Crandall. He claimed there were seven people, along with two dogs and a cat, taking his possessions inside his mobile home at the Oakridge Mobile Home Park.
Deputies responded twice but found no one else inside the residence. Cra
