I-264 East in Louisville reopens after oversized semi was stuck on interstate

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Watterson Expressway in east Louisville is back open Monday after an incident with an oversized semi truck.

At around 11:30 a.m., all lanes of I-264 East between Shelbyville Road and I-71 were blocked while police assisted an oversized semi, according to MetroSafe.

Officials said the oversized semi became stuck on the interstate when it couldn't navigate a turn. Police helped the vehicle by stopping traffic and allowing the semi to back-up to the nearest exit.

As of 12:30 p.m., the interstate has reopened.
