Taunton police are investigating a shooting early Saturday morning left one teenage boy hospitalized, officials said.
Officers responded to Church Street at approximately 5:45 a.m. after multiple 911 calls reported gunshots in the area, according to a department statement. They found several spent shell casings at the scene but no victims.
Shortly thereafter, they learned that a 16-year-old had arrived at Morton Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. The teen was transferred to a regional trauma center, for treatment of a wound that appears to be serious but non-life-threatening, police said.
No further information was available Saturday night.
