A man was shot and killed on Route 302 in Maine Friday afternoon, and the suspected shooter, who was at large for most of Friday afternoon, was located amid an hours long shelter-in-place order, law enforcement officials said at an evening news conference.
Maine State Police officials declined to provide details about the suspect or the victim.
“There was a lone deceased male and the lone suspect in this case has been located,” Maine State Police Major Lucas Hare said at the 7:30 p.m. conference. “There is no threat to the public at this time.”
Officials said the suspect allegedly shot and killed a man a little before 2 p.m. on Route 302 North of Windham. A witness told WMTW TV in Maine that the victim was shot twice while riding a motorcycle.
An influx of 911 calls brought polic
