LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln woman was arrested early Sunday morning after police say she assaulted an officer.

Just before 3:30 a.m., officers with the Lincoln Police Department were sent to St. Elizabeth Hospital for a disturbance.

According to LPD, 28-year-old Brooke Richard was intoxicated, yelling and threatening to be physical with hospital staff.

She started kicking at people, including the arriving officers, so she was placed in handcuffs.

Richard was later released from handcuffs after agreeing to leave the hospital, but instead starting walking in the opposite direction of the exit.

While placing her under arrest, Richard started screaming, pulling away and throwing her body around, LPD said.
