More afternoon showers and storms will return this afternoon and throughout Tuesday across New Mexico, except for northwest New Mexico, where it will be the driest. Storm chances in the Albuquerque Metro will also stay very isolated. Heavy rain will be possible, though over the Ruidoso burn scars, which could lead to flash flooding on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Temperatures will stay hot across the state again.
Drier weather starts moving in on Wednesday, with chances for rain through the end of the week, mainly in the mountains and surrounding areas. High temperatures will continue to hover above average for the second half of the work week.
