INDIANAPOLIS — One adult and three children are displaced after a house fire on Indianapolis' near northwest side Monday morning.

The Indianapolis Fire Department said crews reported to a house fire at the 800 block of West 29th Street , near Dr. MLK Jr. Street and Interstate 65, around 10 a.m. Aug. 18.

IFD said the homeowner told firefighters that she was alerted of the fire through the security camera app on her phone. She then saw flames on the stove and called 911.

Crews were able to get the fire under control in 30 minutes.

The family cat, Michi, was rescued by firefighters and treated on scene by medics who gave the cat oxygen.

Michi was taken by the family to a nearby veterinarian for checkout, IFD said.

No other injures were reported.
