AVON, Ind. — A judge has sentenced an Avon chiropractor for sexually assaulting some of his patients .

The judge sentenced Roc Byrd to six years – 1 1/2 years on each of the four counts of sexual battery – at the Hendricks County Work Release Facility in Danville, where he will stay and only be released to go to work.

Byrd must also undergo therapy for being a sex offender, register as a sex offender and can't seek reinstatement of his chiropractic license anywhere.

"I'm very sorry for the pain I’ve caused to the victims my family and the community. My remorse is indescribable. I’m fully committed to being a better man and whatever therapy is prescribed," Byrd said during the sentencing hearing Monday, Aug. 18.
