A police officer in North Mississippi has been arrested on child sex allegations.

Lafayette County Sheriff Joey East confirmed that Steven Naron, 34, has been arrested and booked into the Lafayette County Jail.

Naron is charged with enticement of child sex conduct, according to an inmate roster listing available through the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department app. He was arrested on Saturday.

East said Naron had worked for Senatobia and Water Valley police departments. Captain Mike King confirmed that Naron no longer works for Water Valley, but Senatobia Police Department did not have anyone available for comment as of 1:15 p.m. Monday.
