MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Three people were arrested after a disturbance in downtown Madison early Monday morning, the Madison Police Department announced.
The incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. on the 20 block of East Main Street.
MPD arrived on scene and reported seeing many people leaving a bar and two people loudly screaming.
As police spoke to the individuals, the man allegedly threatened harm to the officers.
As the man was being placed into custody, a second person allegedly struck one of the officers in the face and hit him with her purse. Officers arrested her.
She was arrested for alleged disorderly conduct, resisting and two charges of battery to a police officer.
MPD reported finding the person who started the initial disturbance and also placed him under arrest.
