GROVE CITY, Pa. - West Nile Virus has been detected in a sample of mosquitoes collected in Grove City.
This is the eighth sample to test positive for the virus in Mercer County in 2025. Additional monitoring will be done in the area where that sample was collected and appropriate control work will be conducted depending on the number and types of mosquitoes that are found.
Currently, there have been no reported West Nile Virus cases in humans in Mercer County.
Most people with West Nile Virus do not develop symptoms, while others may experience fever, body aches, nausea, vomiting and a rash. Severe illnesses can occur in people of any age, but people over the age of 60 are at a greater risk.
