During the August 12 Andover City Council meeting, a crowd of residents came to support each other in voicing their concerns for the council’s vote to raise their compensation by 100%. The good old-fashioned way of talking with the city council may have changed their minds about the compensation raise.

It was just over two weeks ago that the Andover City Council voted to increase their compensation by 100%, doubling what they currently are paid for their duties. The council currently makes $8,280 annually per council member and the mayor $5,495. This increase would bump their compensation to $10,810 annually for council members and $16,560 annually for the mayor, effective January 1st, 2026.
