SUNNYSIDE, Wash. - A Sunnyside resident with an active warrant for failing to appear in court was arrested Sunday for an alleged burglary.
At around 2:30 p.m., Sunnyside Police investigated a theft report and found probable cause to arrest the 35-year-old resident.
Officers found the man in his mother's residence on North 13th Street, which was considered a protected residence under a court issued no-contact order. Officers tried to get the man to exit but he did not comply.
Eventually, SPD got a search warrant and entered the home, using a K-9 to take him into custody after he allegedly attempted to conceal his hand, creating a safety concern.
The man was brought to a nearby hospital to treat his injuries before being booked into jail on felony violation of a no-contact order, second
