FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Two people died and three others were injured Monday in a shooting in the Mt. Carbon area, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said.
The incident was reported around 10:30 a.m.
Investigators found the suspected shooter inside his home, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Another person was found deceased outside a neighboring carport.
The three other people who were shot have “minor gunshot wounds,” deputies say.
Several other law enforcement agencies responded to the shooting, including West Virginia State Police, the Montgomery Police Department and the Division of Natural Resources.
