PORTLAND, Ore. — Summer is starting to wind down and students are preparing to head back to class, with some returning as soon as next week.

The district was originally scheduled to start classes Tuesday, Aug. 26, but the union representing district support staff voted on Aug. 21 to go on strike starting that day, and the district subsequently announced a one-week delay .

Correction: North Clackamas Schools updated their website with correct school start dates for kindergarten and middle school.
