Deadly two-vehicle crash kills two and sends two more to the hospital

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - Two people are now dead after a two-vehicle crash in Route 30.

It happened on Sunday Aug. 19, around 3:50 p.m. when a 2013 Chrysler van crossed the centerline and struck a Mack truck traveling westbound.

The van then ran off the left side of the road and into the woods before it struck a tree.

The Chrysler driver, Alberto Samperio, 46, and the juvenile in the front-seat died at the scene. Two additional juveniles who were in the back seat were flown to a nearby hospital for their injuries.

The driver of the Mack truck was not injured.

The Virginia State Police Division I Crash Reconstruction Team is helping investigate incident.
