Boston Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu said following Sunday’s loss to the Miami Marlins that his calf injury wasn’t serious and he should be back for the team’s series against the New York Yankees beginning on Thursday.
Manager Alex Cora reiterated that the 2024 Gold Glove award winner was being considered day-to-day but wasn’t yet cleared of a potential stint on the injured list.
